QuickMD is committed to publishing accurate, evidence-based, and patient-focused health and medical content. These editorial guidelines describe the standards that govern how our content is created, reviewed, and maintained.
Our Editorial Mission
Our editorial mission is to provide trustworthy, reliable, and easy-to-understand medical and health information that supports informed health decisions across a range of real-world experiences, including addiction recovery, menopause care, weight management, and other health-related concerns. Our content is grounded in clinical expertise and written with clarity, compassion, and respect for diverse patient experiences.
Editorial Structure and Oversight
Our content is created and developed through a structured publications process designed to ensure accuracy, clarity, and real medical expertise.
Our Publications Team is responsible for developing content and overseeing overall publications operations. This multidisciplinary team includes healthcare writers and subject-matter experts with experience in telemedicine, medical publishing, and health communications. Our writers are responsible for the day-to-day development of content, including researching topics, drafting materials, and incorporating source-based information from credible references such as peer-reviewed medical literature, government agencies, public health organizations, and other reputable sources, in alignment with our editorial guidelines.
Our Editorial Team oversees substantive editing, fact-checking, clarity, consistency, and adherence to these editorial guidelines. Editorial review ensures that content is accurate, accessible, appropriately framed for a general audience, and supported by credible, evidence-based sources.
Clinical oversight of content is provided by QuickMD’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and our Chief Medical Officer of Women’s Health, who review health and medical content as appropriate to ensure clinical accuracy, alignment with current standards of care, and consistency with evidence-based medical practice. When appropriate, based on topic complexity or subject matter, content may also be reviewed by other QuickMD licensed healthcare providers with relevant clinical expertise, including registered nurses (RNs) and counselors.
Medical review is conducted as appropriate based on topic complexity, subject matter, and potential impact on patient care or understanding, with the goal of ensuring information is accurate, clearly explained, and responsibly framed for a general audience.
Medical Review Process
Health and medical content that discusses conditions, treatments, medications, diagnostics, or other clinical topics undergoes medical review by a QuickMD licensed healthcare provider prior to publication or update.
Medical reviewers help ensure content is:
- Clinically accurate
- Aligned with current standards of care
- Consistent with evidence-based medical practice
- Clear and appropriate for a general audience
Medical review is conducted for the purposes of accuracy, clinical integrity, and patient safety.
Editorial Independence
QuickMD maintains editorial independence. Clinical content and recommendations are developed based on evidence, professional standards, and patient safety. Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or commercial partners. This independence is foundational to earning and maintaining reader trust.
Accuracy and Evidence Standards
We develop content using current, reputable medical sources, including:
- Peer-reviewed scientific and medical literature and journals
- National and international clinical guidelines
- Government and public health organizations and agencies
- Input from licensed healthcare providers
- Input from our internal healthcare experts and providers
Any third-party sourcing is linked throughout each article and listed in our references section at the end of the articles. All new and updated content includes references. Legacy content is audited and updated on an ongoing basis.
All factual statements, statistics, and clinical descriptions are reviewed for accuracy prior to publication. When evidence is limited or evolving, content reflects appropriate medical uncertainty. When medical understanding changes, we update our content accordingly.
All QuickMD editorial content is subject to copyright protection. Any reuse or citation of original content must clearly attribute QuickMD and, where applicable, include a link to the source material.
Areas of Editorial Focus and Expertise
Our editorial coverage reflects areas where we have significant clinical experience and subject-matter expertise. The majority of our content focuses on addiction treatment and substance use disorders, which align with the core of our clinical services. We also publish content related to hormone therapy for menopause and perimenopause, weight loss management, urgent care, counseling for patients in our Medication-Assisted Treatment program, and general health topics.
By aligning our editorial coverage with areas of active clinical practice, we aim to provide information that is both medically accurate and informed by real-world patient care, while remaining accessible to a broad audience.
Editorial Voice, Language, and Accessibility
Our content is written to be clear, objective, and accessible. Medical terminology is used only when necessary and is explained in plain language. We use person-first and inclusive language whenever possible and avoid stigma, judgment, or sensationalism. Our editorial voice prioritizes neutrality, clarity, and respect for diverse patient experiences.
Content is structured to support comprehension across a wide range of health literacy levels. Articles are designed to help readers locate and understand key information efficiently so they can determine appropriate next steps with confidence.
Transparency and Limitations
We are transparent about the purpose and limitations of our content. Our content is educational and does not provide diagnoses, prescribe treatment, or replace individualized care from a licensed healthcare provider. Readers should not make health decisions based solely on information published on our website. We encourage readers to consult a licensed healthcare provider with any medical questions or concerns and before making decisions about their health or care. When appropriate, we strive to distinguish between educational information and services offered through QuickMD and encourage readers to seek care from a licensed healthcare provider. To reinforce this, disclaimers are included at the end of articles published on our site.
Use of Technology and Artificial Intelligence
Technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools, may be used to support parts of the content development process. All content is reviewed by human editors, and all clinical content undergoes medical review prior to publication or update. AI tools do not replace editorial judgment or clinical oversight. Accuracy, ethics, and patient trust guide all use of technology in our editorial and publications processes.
Updates and Corrections
We regularly review our content to ensure continued accuracy and relevance. Articles are updated to reflect new medical research, clinical guidance, or changes in standards of care. Errors are corrected promptly when identified, and updates are made in a manner consistent with editorial transparency. Reader feedback is valued and helps us improve content quality.
