We can provide the following doctor’s notes when medically justified:
- Doctor’s note to excuse you from work or school
- Return to work note or return to school note (health clearance note)
We do NOT write disability forms, workers comp forms, forms exempting patients from vaccines or mask wearing, etc. You will receive the doctor’s note as a PDF shortly after your consultation. During peak times it may take up to 12 hours.

Yes. A licensed QuickMD clinician can evaluate your symptoms during a virtual visit and prescribe medication if it’s medically appropriate for your situation. No insurance is required, and appointments are available same day, 7 days a week. If medication is part of your treatment plan, it can be delivered directly to your door.
-
Yes, our providers can prescribe mental health medications, as long as the medication is not a controlled substance (e.g., we do not prescribe Adderall) and does not require extensive monitoring. To speak with a QuickMD provider, you can book an urgent care appointment here.
-
For some medications, QuickMD providers may require a complete in-person assessment or lab tests before prescribing. If labs are deemed necessary, our team will help coordinate the testing.
-
QuickMD does not accept insurance at this time. However, we offer transparent, affordable cash-pay pricing for addiction treatment, menopause hormone therapy, weight loss, urgent care, and counseling.
After your appointment, you’ll receive a summary that you can submit to your private insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies, so we recommend checking with your insurer for specific eligibility.
-
It depends on your individual situation. During your first visit, a licensed clinician will take the time to understand your symptoms, health history, and treatment goals. If medication is medically appropriate, it can be prescribed at that visit. There are no unnecessary hurdles, just an honest conversation with a clinician who will recommend what’s right for you.
-
If you have any questions about our services, your care, or need to reach your provider, you can easily contact us by opening a support ticket. Our Patient Support Team is here to assist you and ensure your concerns are addressed promptly.

Yes. Receiving a prescription for anxiety medication through an online visit is safe when care is provided by a licensed clinician. QuickMD clinicians follow the same standard of care as in-person doctors: they review your symptoms, health history, and any current medications before recommending treatment. Clinical research consistently supports online prescribing for anxiety as a safe and effective alternative to in-person care, with no meaningful difference in patient outcomes.
-
Yes. Clinical research has shown that online treatment for depression and anxiety is as effective as in-person care for most patients. Studies supported by the National Institute of Mental Health confirm that antidepressants and evidence-based treatment approaches produce similar outcomes regardless of whether care is delivered virtually or in person. For many patients, online care removes the barriers of cost, wait times, distance, and stigma that would otherwise delay or prevent treatment altogether.
-
Several medications are commonly used to treat anxiety, and the right choice depends on your specific symptoms, health history, and how your body responds to treatment. SSRIs such as sertraline, escitalopram, and paroxetine are typically prescribed first, as they are well-tolerated and effective for generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder. SNRIs like duloxetine and venlafaxine ER are also widely used, particularly when anxiety has a physical component such as muscle tension or fatigue. A QuickMD clinician will review your situation and recommend the medication that’s appropriate for you.
-
QuickMD does not prescribe controlled substances or high-risk medications, including:
- Barbiturates
- Narcotics
- Benzodiazepines
- Products containing Marijuana
- Medications for acute heart problems
- Transplant medications
- Biologicals
- Hormone Therapy (other than birth control)
- Subutex (unless there is a proven medical allergy with documentation)
QuickMD does prescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine-naloxone) for Opioid Use Disorder and other Substance Use Disorders when appropriate. All medications prescribed are medically necessary for the diagnosis.
-
QuickMD offers services in 45+ states. For information on services available in a particular state, please see our service map.
-
QuickMD treats generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder through online visits with licensed clinicians. If you’re unsure whether your symptoms fall into one of these categories, that’s completely normal. Your clinician will help assess what you’re experiencing and recommend the right approach. If your situation requires a higher level of care, your clinician will let you know and help point you in the right direction.
-
QuickMD services are available to patients located in the United States who are 18 years of age or older. To receive care, you must be physically located in the same state that issued your valid photo ID at the time of your appointment. QuickMD does not provide care for pediatric patients.
Addiction treatment
-
QuickMD providers primarily prescribe Suboxone® (buprenorphine-naloxone) in accordance with U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and current clinical best practices, as Subutex (buprenorphine only) carries a higher risk potential for misuse.
However, in cases where a patient has a documented allergy or adverse reaction to Suboxone®, an alternative such as Subutex may be offered. For further information, please contact us directly.
-
Due to federal regulations governing Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), early refills of Suboxone® are not permitted. These guidelines, enforced by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), are designed to ensure safe, consistent use and apply to both patients and providers.
We recommend scheduling your next appointment several days before your current supply runs out to avoid delays or pharmacy-related issues. While individual pharmacies may offer a grace period of 1–3 days, QuickMD cannot authorize refills outside of a pharmacy’s grace period.
Early refills cannot be approved in the following situations:
- Lost or stolen medication
- Taking more than the prescribed dosage
- Travel-related early refills
If you anticipate travel, please inform your provider in advance. In some cases, they may issue a shorter prescription to ensure your refill date aligns with your travel plans.
For additional questions or personalized guidance, please contact us directly.
-
While Suboxone® (buprenorphine-naloxone) is FDA-approved for the treatment of opioid use disorder, it has also shown clinical effectiveness in managing dependence and withdrawal symptoms related to substances like Tianeptine and Kratom, due to their activity at mu-opioid receptors.
Tianeptine, though not classified as a traditional opioid, acts as a mu-opioid receptor agonist, producing effects and withdrawal symptoms similar to those seen in opioid use disorder. According to an article in the Journal of Addiction Medicine, “Chronic daily use of tianeptine may represent tianeptine use disorder, which can have a clinical course consistent with opioid use disorder, including the development of impaired control, functional impairment, tolerance, and withdrawal. It is appropriate to consider medications (like buprenorphine) for opioid use disorder, for the management of tianeptine use disorder.”
Similarly, Kratom contains mitragynine, which also activates mu-opioid receptors. Cases of Kratom dependence, withdrawal, and addiction have been successfully managed using buprenorphine-based therapy.
At QuickMD, our providers use established MAT protocols to treat Kratom and Tianeptine addiction in appropriate cases, based on clinical judgment and the patient’s individual needs.
-
QuickMD offers Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder and other substance dependencies in most states. Please check our service map for availability in your state.
All addiction treatment visits are $99. For new patients who have not previously received MAT care from QuickMD, the first visit includes one follow-up at no extra cost as long as it’s completed within 14 days of the first visit. Medication costs are not included and may vary based on the pharmacy you choose and your prescription drug coverage.
Your initial visit is called the induction appointment. During this visit, your provider will prescribe a 7-day supply of buprenorphine-naloxone (Suboxone®) to monitor your tolerance and adjust the dosage as needed.
After induction, you’ll continue with monthly follow-up visits as part of your ongoing treatment plan.
-
QuickMD offers Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorder in most states. Please check our service map to confirm availability in your state. We are proud to be the largest TeleMOUD provider in the U.S., serving a broad and growing network of patients across the nation.
To receive care, patients must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be physically located in the state that issued their valid photo ID at the time of the appointment
Please note:
- We are unable to send prescriptions across state lines, even if you’re located near a border.
- Suboxone® cannot be prescribed while you are traveling in a different state.
- Patients cannot change their address more than 1 time in a 6 month period.
If you accidentally schedule an appointment in the wrong state, our Patient Support team may reschedule your appointment with a provider licensed in your applicable state for an administrative fee of $35.
-
QuickMD offers fully remote addiction treatment. Our licensed providers can initiate and manage treatment, including prescribing buprenorphine-naloxone (Suboxone®), without the need for an initial in-person visit. However, some states require annual or semi-annual in-person visits to maintain telemedicine-based addiction treatment. Please visit our in-person clinics page for more information about state requirements.
-
To help ensure continuous care and avoid interruptions in your treatment, we recommend scheduling your follow-up appointment at least one week after your induction appointment or before your initial prescription ends.
Your follow-up appointment must be scheduled within 14 days of your induction appointment to remain covered by the initial $99 rate. After this 14-day window, additional fees may apply. If the follow-up isn’t completed within this timeframe, it will no longer be covered under the induction package, and a $99 fee will apply. For patients who miss their follow-up, they will receive a $64 credit toward a future appointment. Refunds are not available.
This bundled induction pricing is only available to new addiction treatment patients and does not extend to patients re-initiating a new induction treatment.
Drug screenings
-
How to use the test kit:
- Open the sealed pouch and take out the cup.
- Collect your urine sample using the cup, then securely tighten the cap and place the cup on a flat surface.
- Peel off the sticker labeled “Remove the sticker to see the result” and check the result after 2 to 5 minutes.
- Write your full name and the date of collection in the fields marked “ID” and “Date.”
- Take 3–4 clear, close-up photos of the cup, making sure the test panels, your name, and the date are clearly visible. Please avoid flash to prevent glare.
- You can upload your result using this link: Upload Result or by scanning the QR code provided on the instruction sheet included in your kit.
Important note: We recommend keeping your cup with the results until they have been verified by our team. This can help prevent further processing delays on your account by avoiding the need to send a new test kit.
-
If your provider requests a drug screen, it’s typically due to state-mandated requirements, not to penalize you. Rest assured, a positive drug screen will not affect your treatment—QuickMD will continue to prescribe your medication even if other substances are detected. However, completing the urine drug screen is essential to comply with state regulations. Without it, we may be unable to continue prescribing your medication.
-
As part of your tele-MAT treatment and state compliance, you may need to complete a drug screening. Options for completing the screening include:
- Free home test kit: We can send you a free urine drug test kit that you can conveniently complete at home. To order your kit, please click here and provide your complete mailing address so we can ship it to the correct location.
- LabCorp: Visit any LabCorp location with a Lab Requisition Form provided by us. To request a requisition form, please click here. Please note that if you choose this method, the test will be out-of-pocket.
- Local lab of your choice: Use a local lab of your choice with an order form we’ll supply. To request a requisition form, please click here. Please note that if you choose this method, the test will be out-of-pocket.
If you have additional questions, please contact (labs@quick.md) our Labs Team.
Hormone therapy
-
Hormone therapy (HT) is most effective in treating disruptive hot flashes, insomnia, or any perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms negatively affecting a woman’s quality of life. HT increases the body’s estrogen levels, which effectively treats hot flashes and night sweats.
-
Treating the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause is individualized and often based on personal philosophies for the various treatment options. Dose and duration should be individualized, and personal risk factors such as “the risk of venous thromboembolism, stroke, ischemic heart disease, and breast cancer should guide use of HT. You may not be a candidate if you have any of these risk factors. The good news is that there is no mandatory age to stop hormone therapy for symptomatic women who are low risk.
For low-risk women, HT can safely reverse menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, sweating, insomnia, depression, anxiety, apprehensive feelings, fatigue, poor concentration, memory loss, vaginal dryness, and heart palpitations. It can also protect against bone loss. Those who should not take HT include those with a personal history of breast, ovarian, or endometrial cancer, a strong family history of breast cancer, a history of blood clots, stroke, heart disease, liver disease, or untreated high blood pressure.
The benefits of HT generally outweigh the risks when a woman is prescribed and cared for by a menopause healthcare practitioner.
-
Side effects from hormone therapy include breast tenderness, bloating, mood swings, headaches and irregular vaginal spotting. These side effects may occur during the first 3 to 6 months when starting hormone therapy and improve over time. If any of these side effects occur and become disruptive, you can work with your QuickMD doctor to lower the dose or change the type of hormone therapy you are taking.
-
Estrogen-only therapy is used for women who no longer have a uterus to relieve menopausal symptoms. Estrogen therapy can be taken orally, using a transdermal patch, cream, gel, spray, or vaginal ring.
Combination Estrogen + Progesterone therapy is used for women with a uterus. If you have a uterus, you need the protection of progesterone to prevent an overgrowth of the uterine lining. Taking progesterone will work to protect the lining of the uterus and reduce the risk of developing uterine cancer.
-
Before starting hormone therapy for menopause, it’s recommended to get a complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), lipid panel, Hemoglobin AIC (HbA1C), Thyroid panel, Vitamin D, Zinc, Magnesium, High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hsCRP), Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate, Anemia Panel-Iron, Ferritin, Folate, and Vitamin B12.
Weight loss
-
The cost of weight loss medication depends on several factors, including the specific medication prescribed, the dosage, and how often you take it—just like most prescriptions. In some cases, higher doses may be recommended over time to achieve the best results, which can influence overall cost.
-
We offer a range of GLP-1 medication options tailored to your unique health and weight loss goals. Our weight loss consultations are just $99, during which your licensed doctor will work with you to understand your target weight, health concerns, and budget to help you choose the right medication. Your doctor can send your prescription to your local pharmacy.
Medication costs aren’t included in the consultation fee and will vary based on your pharmacy and prescription drug benefits. We recommend checking with your insurance provider before your appointment, as most GLP-1 medications aren’t exclusively approved for weight management.
There are no membership fees or long-term commitments, giving you the flexibility to change medications if needed. Established patients may also qualify for 90-day prescriptions.

- The pharmacy has not received the Rx
- The pharmacy is refusing to fill/has a concern about the prescription
- The prescription needs to be transferred to another pharmacy
Please contact us.

Please note:
-
- We will work with you if a pharmacy-related issue arises, however, pharmacies have the right to decline prescriptions.
- For controlled medications like buprenorphine (Suboxone, Subutex, Zubsolv), it’s best to stick with the same pharmacy whenever possible. If you need to switch due to a stock issue, be sure to check ahead to confirm availability.
